Mohawk Valley Community College will celebrate Father’s Day the Magical Way on Sunday, June 17, at 2 p.m. in the Theater of the Information Technology Building on the Utica campus.
The event will feature a live, family-oriented magic show by local award-winning illusionist Leon Etienne, who has performed for audiences in venues across the globe. His performances have won him several prestigious awards, including 2011 Campus Entertainer of the Year, CNY Magician of the Year, and Stage Magic Champion from the Magicians’ Alliance of Eastern States. The $500 scholarship is designed for single minority mothers who live in Utica or other Oneida County communities. Recipients must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher and show that they are on the path to self-sufficiency or have demonstrated a genuine interest in self-improvement.
