MVCC hosts Alumni Art Show on Utica campus
Mohawk Valley Community College is showing the artwork of its graduates in the 26th annual Show of Alumni Work in the MVCC Art Department hallway gallery on the second floor of the Academic Building on the Utica campus.
The show generally receives between 75 and 100 entries from nearly 2,600 graduates from MVCC’s Advertising Design & Production, Graphic Design, and Illustration programs. Everything from logo identity creation to brochure and package design to published and unpublished illustration will be on display. Prizes will be awarded. The Show of Alumni Work will be on view through Commencement on May 18, 2012.
The MVCC alumni art show was started in 1987 by Bob Clarke and other MVCC art faculty as a way for graduates to display the professional work they’ve created after graduating from college and beginning their careers. In past years, alumni from as far away as Alaska – and even internationally from Turkey and Asia – have submitted work to this show, a testament to the depth of the MVCC curriculum.
