Mierek, owner of The Local Farm to Table, to present lecture at MVCC

Carl Mierek, owner of The Local Farm to Table restaurant in Utica, will present the lecture “Changing the Way We Eat in a Changing Landscape” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the Dining and Community Hall in the Plumley Complex on the Rome Campus. Admission is free.

Speaking on his experience growing up on a family farm and starting The Local Farm to Table, Mierek will explore the factors that have changed the way food is produced and the impact this change has had on local ecosystems, economies, and the communities that rely on them. He will present the lecture at the Utica Campus at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in Information Technology Building Room 225. Learn more about him and his restaurant at thelocalfarmtotable.com.
