The Central New York Recruiting Consortium (CNYRC) in partnership with WUTR Eyewitness News will host Job Fair Extraordinaire, Central New York's premier recruiting event, on Wednesday Sept. 25 from 2-8 p.m. on the Utica Campus of Mohawk Valley Community College. The event, located in the Jorgensen Athletic and Event Center, is free and open to all job seekers in the community.
Students from all area colleges are especially encouraged to attend. All job seekers should bring multiple copies of their resumes and be dressed in business attire.
At the fair, students, alumni and community members can connect with employers with the hopes of garnering a position at one of the many companies that will be represented.
Nearly 100 employers from across the region, including Chobani, Bank of New York Mellon, Turning Stone, Indium Corporation, AmeriCU, Carbone Auto Group and Sovena USA, are expected to recruit new employees at the fair. Slots for employers are still available for pre-registration on a first-come, first-served basis; information about registration and fees is online at www.mvcc.edu/tickets.
The CNYRC is comprised of Utica College, Mohawk Valley Community College, Herkimer County Community College, SUNYIT, Morrisville State College and USC The Business College.
The CNYRC serves as a resource to employers by allowing one point of entry for companies to recruit candidates from all member institutions. The fair is one of the most effective methods of assisting employers in finding local talent to fill their hiring needs.
Other presenting sponsors of the fair include Herkimer ARC and Turning Stone. For more information about the fair, contact John Nehme in MVCC's Office of Career and Transfer Services at (315) 792-5326.
