Advocating for students with disabilities: Tamara Mariotti

Picture of Mariotti

Tamara Mariotti, ADA/504 Coordinator and Coordinator of Disability Services, can be found in the Disability Services Office helping students with physical, emotional, and/or learning disabilities. It’s her job to make sure students have the tools they need to learn – in the classroom and online. She coordinates services, including e-texts, notetakers, alternative testing arrangements, and sign language interpreters. In June, Tamara was appointed to President of the New York State Disability Services Council (NYSDSC). In this role, she is responsible for increasing resources for NYSDSC, participating as a liaison, and serving as a voice for communicating disability service issues and concerns to campus administrators, state and federal agencies, the State Education Department, and SUNY Central Administration. At MVCC, we are proud of what staff like Tamara do for our students!
