General Navigation
You can access different areas of your MV Online class website by using the navigation buttons at the left side of the screen. Your instructor may change the names of the buttons to be specific to the course or may choose not to make some of these itms available, but in general you will find something like the following navigation menu:
- The Student Email icon allows you to access your student email account.
- In this section, you will find any announcements that have been posted by your instructor regarding your course or by the system administrator regarding technical issues.
- In this section, you will find basic information about the course, including the course syllabus, software requirements for the course (if needed), exam requirements (on-campus exams, off-campus exams, etc.), course objectives, grading and attendance policies, the students with disabilities statement, office hours, and other pertinent department information.
- In this section, you will find information about your instructor, his or her contact information, and possibly a picture.
- In this section, you will find course lectures and other instructional materials that will be posted throughout the semester. Depending on your instructor, you may see links to each lecture or a link to a folder that contains lecture material.
- In this section, you will find the assignments for your course, along with information about when the assignments are due. Please note that this area may not be used by all instructors.
- In this section, you will find information on the required course texts and where they can be purchased, such as at our MVCC Bookstore Online.
- In this section, you will find the synchronous and asynchronous communication areas available within MV Online, including email, discussion board, and class chat.
- In this section, you will find links to any external supplemental materials your instructor makes available.
- In this section, you will find useful Blackboard tools, including the Digital Drop Box, an online Blackboard manual, a calendar, and an area in which to check your grades.
