Region III Tournament:
3/1/13: Final: MVCC 75 FMCC 69. Laz Martinez scored 23 points including the go ahead 3-pointer with just over two minutes remaining as the Hawks avenged last weekends loss to the Raiders and advance to the Region III Semi-Finals.
Basil Harley had 10 points and Alexshay Pearce 9 points and 5 rebounds in the win. MVCC will play at 3pm Saturday against Herkimer.
3/2/13: Final HCCC 84 MVCC 73. The MVCC Men's Basketball season ended with a 84-73 loss to Herkimer in the regional semifinals. Laz Martinex scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds for MVCC, which ended the season 20-11. Alexshay Pearce scored 16 points and Darryl Brown added 11 more in the loss.

The Program:
The MVCC Hawks compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Region III, Division III. The Hawks are also a member of the tough Mountain Valley Conference. The conference consists of two divisions and a total of ten teams. The team plays a 28 game regular season schedule against regional and conference opponents. There is post season play as well on both the regional and national levels. MVCC has had many athletes over the years be recruited by four-year schools with some earning scholarships. The team plays an aggressive man to man defense and an up-tempo offense. The Hawks have proven themselves to be one of the stingiest defenses in the country over the past five years holding their opponents under 60 points per game.
