Marjorie Thorpe Contest

Each spring, the MVCC Libraries host the Marjorie Thorpe Memorial Award Term Paper Contest, which awards excellence in student writing and research. Term papers must show evidence of library research and will be judged according to the following criteria: variety and quality of sources used, writing style, and accurate and appropriate use of references. Students must be currently enrolled in at least one course at MVCC and may submit more than one paper. Term paper submissions are accepted from the previous Summer and Fall semesters, and the current Spring Semester. Winners receive cash prizes. Submission guideline requirements are sent to students via email and available at the Libraries during the Spring semester.
