Student Profile: Wakana Yamada

Wakana Yamada arrived at Mohawk Valley Community College in August of 2011 from Saitama, Japan. Wakana is working toward her degree in General Studies and plans to transfer to a four-year institution to earn a bachelor’s degree in Film Studies.

Wakana has been very active in the campus community since she arrived. She participates in International Student Services activities such as snow tubing and student mixers, she is a member of the International Club, and she has enjoyed her experience in the Residence Halls so much that she plans to be a Resident Assistant next fall!

“It has been such a fun experience so far. My favorite thing about the college has been that I get to meet and study with students from all different backgrounds.”
