Registration Packets available in the New Hall Office and the Residence Life Office in the Alumni College Center Room 208. Deadline: Thursday, April 4th by 3pm.
Current students, including students beginning residency in January, who wish to live in the Residence Halls for the following academic year must participate in an event called the Room Selection Lottery. MVCC feels that a Room Selection Lottery is the fairest way to allocate the spaces available to returning students.
What is the Room Selection Lottery?
The process in which any current student who wishes to live in the Residence Halls next year is randomly assigned a computer generated "Lottery Number". This number identifies what order the student will choose their room and with whom they will choose a room.
Does Everyone Get A Room?
While we do need to save room for first year students, we are typically able to accommodate any resident who wishes to return the next year if they submitted their Room Selection Lottery Registration Form by the deadline. Approximately the 1st 240 students, proportionately split between participating males and females, are guaranteed a room. IF that number is exceeded, it may be necessary to start a short waiting list.
How to participate:
1. Room Selection Lottery Information Packets are available in the New Hall Office or the Residence Life Office.
2. All registration forms must be returned to Auxiliary Services no later than the published deadline. A $100.00 Security/Damage deposit for the next academic year is required with the registration form. Students failing to meet this deadline will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list.
