Provides access to more than 1,000 major U.S. regional, national and local newspapers as well as leading titles from around the world.

HarpWeek 1857-1865
Full-text online database for Harper’s Weekly.  Considered a primary source for examining 19th century America on a weekly basis, students researching the Civil War years, 1857-1865, should find this a valuable source of information.

Lexis-Nexis Academic
LexisNexis Academic offers a wide range of resources, including news (newspapers, wire services, broadcast transcripts, international news, and non-English language sources), business information (business journals, company financial information, SEC filings and reports, and industry/market news), and legal information (U.S. Federal and state case law, codes, regulations, legal news, law reviews, Shepard’s Citations for all U.S. Supreme Court cases back to 1789)

National Newspapers Index (Gale)
Provides indexing of the Christian Science Monitor, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal.   All articles, news reports, editorials, letters to the editor, obituaries, product evaluations, biographical pieces, poetry, recipes, columns, cartoons and illustrations, and reviews are included. The only items not included are weather charts, stock market tables, crossword puzzles, and horoscopes. In addition, the Gale Group National Newspaper Index indexes national and international news stories written by the staff writers of the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times. Other types of articles from these two papers are indexed selectively.

New York State Newspapers (Gale)
Provides access to the content of NYS regional newspapers, including Buffalo News, New York Post, New York Times, Post-Standard (Syracuse) and Times Union (Albany).

Newsbank: America’s Newspapers
Provides coverage of local and regional news, including companies, politics, sports, industries, cultural activities, and people in the community.  Includes Utica’s Observer-Dispatch, Syracuse’s Post-Standard, and Albany’s Times Union. 

Newspaper Source Plus (EBSCO)
Includes more than 1,000 full-text newspapers. The database contains comprehensive full text for major newspapers such as the New York Times (from January 1985 to present), Christian Science Monitor, San Francisco Chronicle, the Sydney Morning Herald (Australia), The Times (UK), Toronto Star, USA Today, the Washington Post, the Washington Times (DC) and others.  In addition, it features nearly 913,000 television and radio news transcripts, including ABC News, CBC, CBS News, CNBC, CNN, CNN International, FOX News, MSNBC, National Public Radio, PBS and more.

ProQuest Historical New York Times
This database offers full-text and full-image articles from the New York Times. The database covers the New York Times from its first issue in to three years ago.  Includes news, editorials, letters to the editor, obituaries, and birth and marriage announcements, historical photos, stock photos, and advertisements.
