MVCC CyberJobs Program Complete!

The MVCC CyberJobs program was a $2.78 million three year grant program funded by the Federal Department of Labor to help boost the professional IT skills in the Mohawk Valley. MVCC worked with several community partners such as: the Herkimer, Madison, Oneida Workforce Investment Board, Herkimer, Oneida, Rome, and Utica Working Solutions Offices, Herkimer County Community College, Morrisville State College, Utica School of Commerce, and the Griffiss Institute.

Over 2,100 participants across the community were able to participate in FREE IT training courses from Basic PC Fundamentals to advanced professional courses such as CompTIA Network, CompTIA Security, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Computer Information Systems and Security Professional (CISSP). In addition to completing these courses, eligible individuals were also able to take a professional CompTIA certification exam corresponding to their course FREE of charge.

With this training, participants were able to seek locally in demand IT careers, pay increases, or further their professional skill set. While the CyberJobs grant may have concluded in September 2013, several of the courses developed for the grant are being offered at MVCC through the Corporate and Community Education Department.
