Terry Schwaner earned a Ph.D. degree in Vertebrate Systematics and Ecology at the University of Kansas, a M.S. degree in Zoology with a minor in Botany at Auburn University, a B.S. degree in Zoology at Southeastern Louisiana University, and an A.A. degree in Biology at Palomar College. He was a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Biochemistry at Louisiana State University and before coming to MVCC, held positions of Research Biologist with the USAF, Curator of Reptiles at the South Australian Museum, Scientific Officer at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Associate Curator at the Virginia Museum of Natural History, Teacher at the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science, Associate Professor at Southern Utah University, Professor, Department Head and Harry B. Forrester Endowed Chair at The University of North Georgia, and Professor and Dean of the College of Sciences at the University of Findlay. Dr. Schwaner currently is a representative for the Baccalaureate Constituency on the Board of Directors of Sigma Xi, the International Scientific Research Society.

Faculty do not have office hours over the winter break or if their classes are not in session, i.e. during the summer.
