Mohawk Valley Community College’s Center for Corporate and Community Education announces open registration for a round of Health and Wellness classes. These classes -- held at the MVCC Utica campus, the Jewish Community Center in Utica, and Preswick Glen in New Hartford -- are a fun way to get into shape and into active habits for a lifetime of good health.
This class fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will tone and sculpt the body while burning fat. Beginners are welcome. Wellness Stretch and OM
Learn movements that are relaxing and helpful for relieving the stress that builds up from our busy everyday lives. You’ll use gentle, warm-up stretches – that are taught in ballet class – and easy core type strengthening techniques to quiet the mind and get in touch with peace and grace. Jewish Community Center. This is a one-hour Kripalu yoga class designed to nurture mindfulness while encouraging exploration and self-acceptance. Each yoga class is different but all link strengthening, balance, and core power and end with a guided meditation and relaxation. Jewish Community Center.

Yoga Flex & Flow
This hatha yoga vinyasa flow class teaches participants how to energize their minds and bodies, reduce stress, rebalance their body alignment, dissolve unwanted tension, and build strength. Cardio Kick and Sculpt

Strengthen Sculpt & Tone
This course will incorporate the use of resistance bands, hand weights, and the stability ball to increase physical strength, prevent osteoporosis, and help change your body to a more desirable form. Improve core strength and balance as well. Jewish Community Center.

Cardio Hoop is a cardiovascular exercise that uses an adult sized hula hoop (about 1.5 lbs.) to build balance, strengthen core muscles, and tone the entire body. Hatha Yoga Flow
Join this yoga flow class to awaken the energy within and experience the graceful flow of movement with the breath. Find your balance in body and in life. Yogalates is a one-hour class blending yoga poses and pilates exercises. Taiji or T’ai Chi is an ancient, Chinese martial arts practice renowned as a rejuvenator of health and vitality and can be done by anyone who can walk. It is meditative in nature and teaches body/mind control useful for all of life’s activities. This class is ideal for all ages, especially older adults.
