MVCC’s Center for Corporate and Community Education is now taking registrations for the fall schedule of computer literacy classes. For those seeking a introduction to the world of technology or a stronger working understanding of Microsoft Office or other programs, MVCC has the course for you.
Microsoft Office Sampler
With Office 2010 rolling out, you might feel a bit lost. Don’t fret! This class will give you a crash course in all aspects of the new Office package: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and Outlook. You’ll learn the fundamentals you need to make the most of your workday even in this world of everchanging technology! Cost: $79

This ILT Series course, rated 4.9/5.0 in overall quality by ProCert Labs, covers the fundamentals of using QuickBooks 2010 to track the finances of a small business. You will learn how to set up a new company, manage bank account transactions, maintain customer and vendor information, generate reports, and write and print checks. They will also create invoices, credit memos, add custom fields, set up budgets, and learn about data backup/protection. Cost: $89

Computer Skills for Baby Boomers
Join the computer age without fear. Learn basic skills and experience what can be done on the computer in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. Explore how computer applications can help you stay in touch and on top of things. You will learn how to open and send an email; how to search for items using the Internet; and how to create a professional-looking letter or document using Microsoft Word. The slower pace of this course, along with its guaranteed limited class size, assures that you will receive personal, hands-on instruction. Cost: $65
