MVCC to Offer Gardening Workshops

Mohawk Valley Community College’s Center for Corporate and Community Education has designed a series of workshops in gardening. With the spring approaching, now’s the time to think about getting those yards and gardens ready!

Landscape Design with the How-To Gardener
Imagine designing your own front yard! Landscape design is a complex process in which a number of factors need to be considered. In this class we will discuss site analysis, design styles, and ‘hardscaping’ (patios, water features, and walls). Also covered will be plant selection, proper planting techniques and best maintenance practices. Come discover the basics of landscape design and reap the benefits and satisfaction of making your outdoor space the best it can be. Classes will be held on Saturdays, March 24 and 31 from 10am-12pm on the Utica Campus. They will also be held on Saturdays, April 21 and 28 from 10am-12pm on the Rome Campus. Cost is $35 and the instructor is Mike Mahanna, the How-To Gardener.
