Mohawk Valley Community College Offers Personal Trainer Certification Class

MVCC’s Center for Corporate and Community Education announces open registration for Personal Trainer Certification training. The intensive course provides all the information and training needed to become a personal fitness trainer in one weekend.

Here's a chance to become a certified Personal Trainer in one intensive weekend. Personal Training Certification from the Personal Training Institute of America will prepare students for a successful career as a Certified Personal Trainer! With Americans becoming more aware of the impact that physical fitness has on their long-term health, the need for individuals with an in-depth knowledge of personal fitness and who have the ability to provide personal training and fitness instruction is rapidly rising. PTIA is a premiere personal training school that will provide the education, skills and insight to become a valued professional as a certified personal trainer, ready to enter the workforce. Our two-day intensive program includes 16 hours of lecture, demonstrations and practical hands-on application.  Online final exam will be taken after the class is complete.

There are no prerequisites to participate in this program. Text and materials are purchased separately for $65 on the first day of class.  Please bring check or cash to receive materials. Note: CPR certification needs to be obtained before final certification. 10 Hour Internship/Shadowing period also required for final certification. Dress in gym clothes and bring lunch and a mat.

Office hours are 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Friday. All MVCC non-credit instruction is completely self-supporting, including indirect costs, and requires no public funding.
