Enrich Your Life at MVCC This Spring
Mohawk Valley Community College will offer a wide variety of non-credit leisure learning classes this spring through MVCC’s Center for Corporate and Community Education. Learn something new while having fun!
“Keys” 2 Free Life: Real Estate Investing for Beginners
Looking for financial freedom and/or a reliable retirement? Real estate investing may be the KEY to use! Many middle-income Americans trying to “live the dream” are finding themselves in a nightmare of debt. Others are looking for a reliable retirement with maximum control, lower-risk, and doesn’t require a lot of money needed for the present. This class will uncover a multitude of strategies that are available to anyone, can be tailored to individual needs, and will put participants more personally in charge of their financial present and future. This information will allow participants to increase the likelihood of becoming more financially free now and having a reliable retirement to look forward to when you are ready to retire. This class will take place on Thursdays from February 6 to 27, from 6:00-8:00 pm on the Rome Campus. It will also take place on Thursdays from April 3 to 24, from 6:00-8:00 pm on the Utica Campus. Cost is $99.
Acting for Non-Actors
Through energetic exercises incorporating improvisation, scripted scenes, and monologues, participants will find yourself immersed in an innovative and dynamic style of communication and public speaking that will increase skill, focus, and confidence while eliminating any second guessing. Led by a Theatre Education specialist in a fun and supportive setting, this highly interactive class will explore specific ways to communicate more clearly and effectively in any given situation. This course will take place on Thursdays from February 27 to April 10, from 6:00-8:00 pm on the Utica Campus. Cost is $75.
Identity Theft Seminar
This seminar will explain how to protect personal identities and to lower the odds of becoming an identity theft victim. Learn what identity theft is and how identity thieves obtain personal information. Topics will include health insurance identity theft, current scams and tactics, protecting identities on the internet and social media, how cloud storage devices propose so risk and protecting children's identities and protecting kids online. Receive the tips required to minimize risk and take steps to keep personal assets safe online and offline. This seminar will take place on Saturday, March 22 from 10:00-2:00 pm on the Utica Campus. Cost is $39.

All MVCC non-credit instruction is completely self-supporting, including indirect costs, and requires no public funding.
