MVCC Lady Hawks Win 2012 National Championship!

The Women’s Soccer Team finished the season with a final overall record of 21-1-1 under the direction of Head Coach Steve Senior (17th season).
The Team won the Mountain Valley Conference Championship and the Region III-B Championship. They started their amazing post season run by defeating the #1 ranked team in the country, Finger Lakes CC, 2-1 in the regional championship game.
At Nationals they came from behind and never led until 3:30 remaining in the opening game to defeat Holyoke CC 3-2. Their title run continued dominating Anoka Ramsey 2-0 in the semi-finals. Their season culminated by beating Gloucester County College for the National Championship; the program’s second and the college’s 22nd overall.
The Hawks were led by Meghan Carlo; Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year, 1st Team All-Region, 2nd Team All-American, Samantha Getman; Region III Tournament MVP, 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Region, 1st Team All-American, Meghan Gaffney; All-Conference, Brittany McGraw-Wixson All-Conference, 2nd Team All-Region, Nicole Burline; 2nd Team All-Region, and Mia DeGironimo; NJCAA Tournament MVP.
