2011 Season Summary

The 2011 Men’s Soccer Team, under the direction of head coach Bob Gould (33rd season), finished its season with a 16-3-1 overall record. The Hawks finished second in the Mountain Valley Conference and were seeded third in the National Junior College Athletic Association's Region III Tournament. The Hawks won their semi-final regional match-up against Cayuga Community College, coming from two goals behind for a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory. In the regional finals, the Hawks were defeated by the eventual NJCAA national champion, 4-0.

Individual Honors: Armin Budnjo - Second Team NJCAA All-American, First Team All-Region III and All-Mountain Valley Conference; Matt Struckle - First Team All-Region III and All-Mountain Valley Conference; David Gould - Second Team All-Region III and First Team All-Mountain Valley Conference; Blair Bellamy - First Team All-Mountain Valley Conference.

2010 Season Summary

The 2010 Men's soccer team had their best season record in seven years at 14-3-3. The young but talented Hawks won eight straight to cap a late season run. Seeded fourth in the NJCAA Region III Tournament, the Hawks advanced to the semifinals with a dominating 3-0 win over fifth seed Jamestown. The Hawks lost 2-1 in the regional semifinals to the eventual regional champion and national runner up. MVCC was led by captain and All-Region III senior midfielder Steve Wilday and First Team All-Region III freshman forward Armin Budnjo. First Team All-Region III freshman marking the backfield Blair Bellamy and standout freshman keeper Shane Connelly anchored the defense. The team was ranked nationally for much of the season. Highlights included winning early tournaments at Finger Lakes and at Alfred State.
