The MVCC Men's soccer team got back in the win column today with a 7-2 home victory over Clinton CCC on Alumni Weekend.

The Hawks (9-2-1) , ranked 7th in this weeks NJCAA national poll, took control of the game early and controlled play throughout, racing out to a 4-0 lead on goals by Abraham Morales (Fleischmanns, NY/Margaretville HS), Mason Olmstead (Sauquoit, NY/ Sauquoit, NY), Armin Mekic (Utica, NY/Proctor HS), and David Gould (Frankfort, NY/Frankfort-Schuyler HS). After a Clinton goal, the Hawks answered back immediately on another goal by Olmstead.  The final two goals by MVCC would be scored by Armin Budnjo (Utica, NY/Proctor HS).  With his second goal of the game, Budnjo becomes the all-time leading goal scorer in MVCC history, passing the record held by Samir Sisic ('99-'00).  Budnjo, a sophomore, now has 30 career goals for the Hawks to go along with 17 assists.  Tyler Deluca (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills HS) recorded 3 assists in the game, with Gould and Budnjo adding 2 apiece.

The Hawks next game is Tuesday at Hudson Valley CC before returning home for a game next Saturday vs. Adirondack CC at 1:00pm.
