With both teams entering the game undefeated, the Mohawk Valley Community College Men's soccer team, ranked 8th in the most recent NJCAA national poll, tied Genesee CC 1-1 today in Batavia.
The Hawks got on the board early with a goal by Armin Budnjo (Utica, NY/Proctor HS), assisted by Shane Connelly (Wolcott, NY/North Rose-Wolcott HS). The score remained tied until just before halftime, when Genesee's Josh Gray ripped a one-timer just out of the reach of MV's keeper.
The teams played an exciting second half and two overtimes with both teams having excellent scoring opportunities but neither team was able to come away with the victory.
The Hawks next game is Wednesday at home vs. Jefferson CC.
