The Hawks suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday, falling short at North Country CC 3-1, who improves to 5-1 on the season.
The Saints took a 2-0 lead into halftime, and with the Hawks pushing forward throughout the second half, placing constant pressure on the defense, the home team countered and extended their lead to 3-0 after being awarded a penalty kick with 23 minutes remaining. The Hawks (8-1-1, 6-1-1) got one back with about 18 minutes left on a goal by Armin Mekic (Utica, NY/Proctor), but they were unable to come all the way back.
