Coaching Staff

Head Coach: Robert Gould

Coach Gould started at MVCC as the Head Men´s Soccer Coach in 1979. In that time, he has taken 25 teams to the Region III Soccer Tournament. The program has enjoyed much success under Coach Gould, particularly during the past fifteen (15) seasons. For 15 straight years the Hawks have advanced to the NJCAA Region III Quarter finals or better: 9 times to the final four and 3 times to the finals. His teams own every school soccer statistical record and have had 8 players with All American status in the last 10 years. Gould has been recognized by his peers many times over his career including several "Coach of the Year" awards. Gould obtained a B.S. Degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland where he was a standout soccer player. In 1973 he was selected as the team¡¦s MVP as a stopper back. He then went on to receive his Masters Degree from the University of North Carolina. Coach Gould served as an Assistant Coach for the Tar heels as well as the head Coach at Penn State University, Media Campus before coming to MVCC. Coach Gould is also licensed by the U.S.S.F. He is a full time faculty member at MVCC as an Associate Professor in the Physical Education Department.

Assistant Coach: Dan Ianno

 

Coach Ianno is a 1993 New Hartford High School graduate where he was a standout soccer player. He attended MVCC for one year before transferring to Oswego State College where he earned a B.A. degree in History in 1997. Dan has been with the Men´s Soccer program since 1999.  Mr. Ianno is a full time employee of MVCC as the Director of Admissions. Coach Ianno currently resides with his wife Marye and daughter in Utica.

 

 

 

Assistant Coach: Mircen Durmisevic

Coach Durmisevic played both striker and goalkeeper for top ranked amateur clubs in Germany before coming to the United States.  He was an honorable mention All-Region goal keeper and a team captain for the nationally ranked 2001 MVCC team.  Durmisevic, an MVCC graduate, also graduated from of Alfred University with a BFA Degree. Coach Durmisevic's primary responsibilty is goalkeeper training. He currently resides in Utica, where he owns his own business with his wife Aida.
