Coaching Staff

Head Coach: Gary Parker

Gary Parker has been employed by Mohawk Valley Community College since 1976 as a Technical Assistant to the Physical Education Department. He has been the Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach since 1989, and the Men's and Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Coach since 1994. Under Coach Parker's direction the entire program has flourished. He has guided over 220 athletes to All-American status.

His Women's Cross Country Teams have won seven National Titles since 1995, and the Women's Outdoor Track and Field Team took home the National Title in 1999. For his efforts, Coach Parker has been named as the National "Coach of the Year" eight times during his career. During the 2001-02 school year Mr. Parker was named as the NJCAA "Coach of the Decade", and the MVCC Women's Cross Country Team was named as the "Team of the Decade". Many of his male and female athletes have gone on to various schools to compete with some earning scholarships at the Division I and II levels.

Mr. Parker attended MVCC where he participated on the Men's Wrestling Team. He then continued his wrestling career at SUNY Brockport where he earned a degree in Physical Education.

Assistant Coach: Kyle Robinson

Coach Robinson is in his 3rd year with Mohawk Valley Community College, primarily the coach of the throwing events. Over the past two indoor and outdoor track and field seasons Kyle has coached numerous Region III champions and 5 All Americans. Five school records as well as the Region III Championship meet record in the 35lb. weight have been broken by ahtletes that have been under the direction of Coach Robinson.

His is a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, with a degree in Physical Education. Kyle is currently enrolled in the University of Maryland pursuing a dregree in Sports Psyhcology. He resides in Canastota, NY.
