Mo makes his debut! Mohawk Valley Community College Athletics was proud to introduce the newest member of the family when Mo-Hawk ran out of the locker room for the very first time during the Midnight Madness event on October 18th.
The Women’s Soccer Team, ranked #4 in the NJCAA poll continued what has been a great season to this point with a 12-0 defeat of Fulton Montgomery CC. Samantha Getman (Whitesboro) scored a hat trick for the Hawks bringing her season total to 22 goals and 12 assists. The Women’s Team (16-1-1) will host Erie CC on Tuesday, October 23rd at 3:00pm in a Regional Playoff Semi-Final game.
The Men’s Soccer Team advanced in the Region III playoffs by defeating Jamestown CC by a score of 5-2. The Hawks scored 5 unanswered goals including 3 in an 8 minute span early in the second half to erase a 2-0 halftime deficit. Admir Ramic (Utica) scored 2 goals including the game winner. MVCC moves on to play at Herkimer CCC on Tuesday October 23rd at 6pm.
The Women’s Cross Country Team won the Mountain Valley Conference Championships this past weekend. The NJCAA’s #2 ranked team placed 5 runners in the top 7 to continue their unbeaten streak against Junior College foes. Up next for the Hawks is the Regional Championships at Proctor Park in Utica on Saturday, October 27th.
The Men’s Cross Country Team finished second at the Mountain Valley Conference Championships this past weekend. The Hawks were led once again by Tom Arcuri (Sauquoit). Tom was the Mountain Valley Conference champion with a course record time of 23:05. He has not been beaten by another Junior College runner all season. MVCC runs next at the Regional Championships on Saturday, October 27th at Proctor Park in Utica, NY.
