MVCC Spring Open House

Spring Open House is Friday, April 11th!

Mohawk Valley Community College looks forward to seeing you at our annual Spring Open House on Friday, April 11th, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Schafer Theater and Jorgensen Athletic and Events Center, located at 1101 Sherman Drive in Utica, N.Y. 

Faculty and staff will be on hand to provide tours of our Utica Campus, including our residence halls, information on the academic programs and services offered at MVCC, and special tours and demonstrations from our academic centers.

Walk-in's are welcome to attend this event.    

 

Here is a schedule of the day’s activities:

12:15 p.m.: Check-in, Information Technology Building (IT).
Check-in begins in the lobby outside the Schafer Theater in the Information Technology Building. Food and beverages are available in the first floor Lobby. Once you are checked in, you may take a seat in the theater.

1 p.m.: Program begins in the Theater.
Opening remarks from MVCC President Randall VanWagoner and Dr. Maryrose Eannace, vice president of academic affairs. There also will be an Admissions presentation, Financial Aid presentation, introduction to college programs, and giveaways during this time.

1:45 - 2 p.m.: Gather for Residence Life Presentation, Room 225, IT Building.
Students and families interested in living on campus will head upstairs (to room 225) for a presentation on Residence Life at 2 p.m.

1:45 - 4 p.m.: Academic and Student Affairs Showcase, Jorgensen Center Field House.
Students not interested in living on campus will head to the Jorgensen Center Field House for the Academic and Student Affairs Showcase, where they can visit the tables set up there and talk to faculty and staff.

2 p.m.: Residence Life Presentation, Room 225, IT Building.
Residence Life session with Dennis Gibbons, IT 225, followed by a tour of the dorms around 2:30 p.m. Upon completion of residence hall tour, you will be guided back to the Jorgensen Center for the Academic and Student Affairs Showcase.

2:30 p.m.: Campus Tours, Jorgensen Center Field House.
Tours will begin at 2:30, departing from the Field House, and continue every 20 minutes.

3 p.m.: Campus and Residence Hall Tours, Jorgensen Center Field House.
Campus tours will continue, and Residence Hall tours will be given for students who missed the first tours.

4 p.m.: Event concludes.
