MVCC Traffic & Parking Regulations

Appeals

An appeal may be submitted if a citation is felt to be unjust, if done so within (10) ten days from the date of the violation, by the violator, on the proper form available form the Security Department, AB 109. Appeals will not be accepted unless:

  1. The vehicle in question is properly registered on the campus.
  2. All previous violations not in appeal status have been paid in full.

Note: Ignorance of the parking regulations contained herein is generally not considered a valid reason for the granting of clemency.

Completed Appeal forms along with the citation must be submitted to the Security Department, AB 109. The (10) ten-day limit includes Holidays and Weekends. If the postmark of mailed appeals is within the (10) ten days, the appeal will be accepted.

The Appeals committtee is comprised of a student and faculty and/or staff members. Violators are permitted to appear before the committtee if they so desire. All decisions of the appeal committee are final. Notification of the committtee's decision will be mailed. If denied, the violator has ten days from the postmarked date of the notice to pay the fin, after which the fine will double. Fines do not double when the citation is in appeal.
