MVCC FACULTY POSITIONS FOR SPRING 2010
Mohawk Valley Community College, with campuses in Utica and Rome, New York, invites applications for the following faculty positions for Spring 2010.
TENURE TRACK POSITIONS:
English – To teach a variety of entry-level English courses. Master degree in English, or related field, ability to assess writing ability, and basic computer skills required; Ph.D. preferred. International experience or interest in developing International programs appreciated. Primary courses could include: Introduction to College English, Composition, Ideas and Values in Literature and Effective Speech.

Master degree in English, or Composition and Rhetoric, ability to assess writing ability, and basic computer skills required; Ph.D. preferred. International experience or interest in developing International programs appreciated. Primary courses could include Composition, Workplace Communication, Report Writing and Effective Speech.
TERM APPOINTMENT ONLY – SPRING 2010:
Childhood Education – To teach education classes, evaluate education credits and advise students in teacher preparation programs. Master degree in childhood education or early childhood education, New York State Teachers' Certification and experience teaching at the pre-school or elementary school level required. College level teaching experience is preferred.
Respiratory Care – To teach clinical sessions in a CoARC accredited Associate Degree Respiratory Care Program. NYS RRT license, Associate degree in Respiratory Care and minimum three (3) years recent clinical experience including critical care required. Bachelor degree preferred. Travel to off-campus clinical sites required.
Computer Science/Information Systems – To teach computer science, information systems courses including programming, data structures, operating systems, computer applications, cybersecurity, and networking. Master degree in computer science or related field required. Experience in cybersecurity, networking, information assurance and networking certificates preferred.
Welding Instructor – To teach both day and evening classes in the Welding Technology Program and advise students. Courses would include Oxy-Acetylene Welding Procedures, Electric Arc Welding Procedures, and Welding Procedures for MIG and TIG, Metallurgy for Welders, Advanced Electric Arc Welding Procedures, Welding Certification, Welders Blueprint Reading and Metal Fabrication, and Welding Inspection and Quality Control Testing. A.O.S. degree in welding and minimum of four (4) years experience in the welding field required.
