Reference Services

Reference assistance is available to all MVCC students, faculty and staff through the following means:


By IM --We have Instant Messenger at the professional librarian staffed reference desk at the Utica Campus Library. This is available during Utica Library open hours.

In Person -- We are located on the 2nd floor of Payne Hall on the Utica Campus and in the Plumley Complex on the Rome Campus. Professional librarians are available at the Information Desk during all open hours.

By E-mail -- We will answer all email requests for research promptly, generally withing 24 hours.

By Phone-- you can call for reference assistance during the Libraries open hours: Utica Campus (315) 792-5561 or Rome Campus (315) 334-7728.

Ask Us 24/7 -- we participate with Western New York, Rochester and Syracuse area Libraries in this reference service where answers can be provided to your reference questions and information provided about your local library
