- BM101 Survey of Economics
- Cr-3
- This course introduces economic theory and its relevance to daily
life in a market economy. Topics include scarcity, supply and demand,
choice, economic growth, taxation and the role of government in the
economy. Particular attention is given to current economic issues
and their impact upon everyday life.
- BM129 Business Math
- Cr-3
- Basic arithmetic process are reviewed to develop speed and accuracy
with decimals, fractions and percentages. Calculators and computers
are used to solve a wide variety of business problems, including simple
and compound interest, discounting promissory notes, present value,
installment purchases and mortgages. Retail mathematics cover the
areas of purchase and cash discounts, trade discounts and markup of
merchandise. Topics may also include sales and property taxes and
payroll. Spreadsheet applications and exercises are required.
- BM250 Principles of Management

- This course is designed to develop an understanding of the basic
functions of management as well as the social and economic responsibilities
of those people engaged in management. A major emphasis is placed
on the problem of decision-making under conditions of uncertainty.
The course is taught by lecture, discussion and case study analysis.
The student will take several written exams and participate in classroom
discussion of case studies and decision-making.
- BM252 Supervisory Management

- This course is designed to provide the student with a working knowledge
of supervisory skills necessary for dealing with human problems within
the organization. Elements such as communications, motivation, discipline,
negotiations and conflict management will be covered. The course is
taught by lecture, discussion, case study analysis and use of simulation
exercises. Course evaluation may include written exams, participation
in classroom case study discussions and simulation exercises.
- EN101 English Composition

- By focusing on several kinds of writing--self-expressive, informative,
argumentative/persuasive, and others--this course teaches the student
to produce the clear, correct and effective prose required in a wide
variety of professions and occupations. Classes offer lecture and
discussion as well as in-class writing activities. Eight writing assignments
include an in-class midterm and business writing.
- IS101 Introduction to Personal Computers

- This course introduces students to the world of personal computers
and will focus on developing computer literacy and basic computer
user skills. Students will use explore the computer's capabilities.
Microcomputer software applications, including word processing, electronic
spreadsheets, graphics, file management and integrated software will
be presented.
- PY101 Introduction to General Psychology

- This course introduces students to interactions of individuals in
their cultural, social and economic environments as determined by
their cognitive, behavioral and emotional experiences and training.
- TM 101 Supervisor of Transportation Operations 1
- Cr-3
- Prerequisite: None
- This course is designed to develop individuals at the highest technical
level of pupil transportation system. The course in Supervisor Operations
will develop the individual's ability to carry out policy and program
directions. All supervisory courses are designed to teach leadership,
administration programs, and engage in the development of programs
and materials within limitations established by management.
- TM 102 Supervisor of Transportation Operations 2

- Prerequisite: TM 101
- This course is designed to give the student a further in-depth look
at the challenges arising in pupil transportation systems. The course
explores risk management techniques, student passenger management,
personal skills to improve the ability to succeed as a manager, and
legal issues surrounding public school transportation.
