Description
This series of assessment-based courses as defined by competencies in a skill-based outcomes manual. Students are evaluated based on their ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience in all topics of study. Major program topics include safety, blueprint reading, machining a work piece to drawing specifications, use of ACAD to create drawings, programming both CNC lathes and milling machines, proper tooling and work hold methods, determining sequential machining operations for complex parts, using CAM to produce CNC programs, introduction to Automated Manufacturing, and a capstone project. These courses allow students to enter the program at multiple points during the academic year.
