Assessment
MVCC is committed to and conducts assessment activities to obtain information for the improvement of programs, services and the overall effectiveness of the College. These activities may include surveys and questionnaires, exams, focus groups, research projects, standardized tests, etc. Members of the College community are encouraged to participate as needed and necessary. MVCC Principles of Assessment can be found on the Assessment Handbook page of the MVCC Institutional Effectiveness website.
Assessment of Student Outcomes
Faculty members are involved in the development and assessment of expected student outcomes at the course, program and institutional levels. These outcomes support the mission of the College and focus on student learning appropriate to the programs of study. It is expected that faculty members will use an appropriate variety of direct and indirect measures to assess student learning within their courses. Faculty will use the results of formative and summative assessment to implement change for the improvement of teaching, learning and the curriculum.
