Health Professions

The Health Professions Department (HLTP) at MVCC prepares students for entry-level positions in a wide range of rapidly growing medical professions, including Surgical Technology, Nursing, Health Information Technology, Respiratory Care, and Radiologic Technology.

MVCC features small lecture classes for more personalized attention and small clinical groups in state-of-the-art laboratories that replicate what graduates will encounter in the field. Students also get real-life, hands-on experience with the programs’ clinical and externships at local agencies. The curriculum of each Health Profession program provides students with opportunities to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values necessary to function as a person, a citizen, and health professional in a dynamic society.

The Health Professions Department advances the quality of life of our students and community through excellence in teaching, innovative services and community partnerships.

All of the degree and/or certificates within the Health Professions Department are designed to prepare students to enter the work force with specific occupational skills, be a critical thinker, and a safe practitioner.

Mission Statement

Mohawk Valley Community College provides accessible, high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students.  We are the community’s college, committed to student success through partnerships, transfer and career pathways, and personal enrichment.
