What is Academic Advising?
Academic Advising Center Mission
"Our team guides and encourages students in their educational journey as they make decisions and build on their strengths to achieve success."
Academic Advising Center Vision
"To empower students to succeed in college and become self-motivated, life-long learners."
Academic advising is a set of services, processes, interactions, and relationships that is designed to provide all students with guidance and support during their post-secondary education careers. The academic advisors at Mohawk Valley Community College are here to provide expert planning, accurate guidance, and stable support for students as they create, work towards, modify, and attain their educational goals. Students and advisors work together as a team to best understand in what direction and for what purpose college education means to each student.
