Nov 7, 2011 - Joined by key partners, Mohawk Valley Community College President Randall J. VanWagoner, Ph.D., today announced the college’s receipt of a six-year grant designed to increase the number of Utica students ready to succeed in college. The GEAR UP grant received by the college from the U.S. Department of Education will provide $519,790 per year over six years, for a total of $3,118,740.

Jun 22, 2011 - Stephanie C. Reynolds, LMSW, a veteran higher education leader and student counselor, has been appointed as Mohawk Valley Community College’s Vice President for Student Affairs. Reynolds’ appointment was made by MVCC President Randall J. VanWagoner and ratified June 13 by the Board of Trustees, successfully concluding a nationwide search that began in March. Reynolds, of Syracuse, joins the college July 5. In her new role, she will lead MVCC’s expansive efforts to provide co-curricular experiences that help students be more successful.

Now, MVCC is expanding efforts to bring education into the communities and neighborhoods from which its students come.
